There is no limit to the powers of mind.It is we who determine how to use these powers. One of these powers is the power of concentration, which is available to all of us.Focus of mind is necessary for anything and everything in life. The quality of your life depends on how much you concentrate and what you concentrate upon.
One of the psychologist has said that the quality of your life depends on the quality of your experiences and the quality of your experiences depend on the quality of your concentration.Every work adds to your experiences and focus on every work determines it's quality. Swami Vivekananda has said that" the difference between an ordinary person and a great person lies in the degree of concentration".
The Bhagwat Gita gives a valuable insight into the mind power and it's role in success. The Gita verse 2:50 says," yogah karmasu kaushalam" – proficiency of action is equal to worship of God." This proficiency in action comes when the work is done with full concentration. Even work like cleaning a room needs concentration. When we do this properly, it amounts to worship. When we have this habit of focussing on whatever we do, we form the habit of being in the present. When we are in the present, we are always happy. Life is in the present and not in the past or future.
Concentration means doing whatever we do with the fullest possible attention. Work done in this way is bound to be excellent. But we are in the age of digital distraction. Technology is very useful but at the same time it is very harmful if not handled properly. When a student plays video games and then starts studying his mind won't let him study and he will feel bored. Because his mind's cognitive capacity is not fully utilized and some part of it is occupied in video games or social media. When he studies with full concentration he will be able to memorize his lessons easily and recall them whenever needed. This also saves time. Work done in this way certainly brings happiness and success to the person. He can also keep his mind calm and stable.
People with this power of concentration can excel in whatever they do. In this way they can lead a happier life.
