The Impact Of Thoughts On Our Inner And Outer World

The happiness of your life depends on the quality of your thoughts.

Nowadays, people are too much conscious of pure air, pure water, organic food and plastic abuse. These are really matters of concern as these things really impact  our health. Not only that, these are endangering our ecosystem as a whole. So, it's our duty to protect our planet from these external toxins.

It is good to be aware of this toxicity as this adversely impacts our health and physical wellbeing. But more importantly we should think whether only external toxins harm us. We should never underestimate the impact of noxious toxins that keep on churning within our own system. Internal toxins are jealousy, hatred, repressed anger, grudges, fear and bitterness towards others.

The injurious effect of negative emotions can be perceived as the manifestation of diseases. They result in crypto mental aberrations and psychosomatic ailments. And most importantly, they accelerate our ageing process to a great extent and cam disfigure our facial countenance irreversibly.

According to Yajur Veda, "Attractiveness and magnetism of your personality is the result of your inner radiance." It has been proven that  an individual remains young or gets older according to his thought process. It is so because our subconscious mind is conditioned by our thoughts. If we dwell upon love, compassion, forgiveness, peace and contentment and value oriented beautiful aspects of life, we get infused with positive, happy feelings. This will lead to the release of happy hormones creating harmony in health and wellness and reversing aging process.

Conversely, if our thought process is negative focusing on frustrating,  ugly and self defeating beliefs, the entire inner system is disrupted. Involuntarily, stress hormones are released. Overtime, it takes a toll on both the health and looks of an individual.

Life is a roller-coaster ride, punctuated by both happy and unhappy experiences. Every challenge of life offers us a hidden lesson. Cultivating a heart filled with love and forgiveness is the only feasible panacea. Meditation is the sole and the surest path leading to love and harmony. With consistent practice, even deep- rooted negativity starts getting diluted and gradually disappears. Health, happiness and beauty are restored.

Knowledge And Wisdom

Knowledge is the most powerful tool given to human beings. Knowing something is the easy part, but it is useful only when it is assimilated and put into action. All of is know that we should eat healthy, exercise,  meditate and be positive. How many of us are actually able to follow through and achieve it? It's like we know recipes but do not know how to make delicious meal. Knowledge is not enough. It is when we apply that knowledge, it becomes wisdom to bring about change that we want in our life.

Knowledge is just the collection of facts and data. The wisest are those who have transformed themselves from within. The ancient sages have prescribed a clear pathway to bridge the gap between knowledge and wisdom.

There are three stages of gaining wisdom  - shravana(listening), manana(reflection) and nidhidhyasana. The third step comes, when you have achieved the former two steps. After listening or reading, you must experiment it. Then, you are ready to integrate the knowledge into your system. Most people stop with just the intake of knowledge. It becomes wisdom only when you live what you have listened.

Before you take on the world, you have to win against your most powerful opponent - you! You have set your own limits. The Bhagwad Gita helps you to understand yourself, identify your strengths and leverage them to overcome your weaknesses. Like us, Arjuna also spoke words of wisdom,  but was unable to live them.

We have to find our true purpose in life. Life cannot be just earning money, getting settled, going on vacations, growing old and dying. And till then, we are not satisfied and happy because we have not lived our true purpose in life.

We should strive to changing our own self to changing others. Shree Krishna bridges the gap between knowledge and wisdom. We need to find the most effective path towards the goal of total fulfillment. In Bhagwad Gita Shree Krishna explains that wisdom is the most powerful weapon as it burns our past and present karmas. A yogi manifests this wisdom within himself through constant practice and dedication.

Tame Your Fear

Our brain is the storehouse of vital energy. This energy is employed in our muscular movements, in the working of heart and lungs, metabolism and carrying of impulses to and from the brain. In addition, our thoughts and emotions also consume much of our vital energy.

Fear exhausts our life energy.  It causes our life force flowing through our nerves squeezed out, lowering our vitality. Fear doesn't help us to get away from the object of fear; it only weakens our willpower. Fear causes our brain to send an inhibiting message to all bodily organs. It constricts the heart and disturbs our metabolism and other bodily functions. Fear is a negative force that neutralises our pro-life energy.

When you're fearful, you're setting a negative frequency in which you're receptive to diseases borne by viruses and bacteria. Fear kills more people than a disease. You attract what you are. If you are fearful, you will attract the similar situations in your life, which will make you more fearful. The best way is to analyse your fear. Is it real or simply an imagination? If it's real, you must deal with it. One can't say that I'm not afraid of going near the lion. This fear is needed for survival. But most of the times, it is psychological.

The current corona crisis, work from home,  living on the edge every day, isolation and fear of losing our dear ones have upset our mental equilibrium. In the Bhagwad Gita, Shri Krishna advises Arjun to be bold, take charge and face the situation with courage. When we face our fears, we overcome our fear. He had faith on Lord Krishna and thus he became fearless. Faith and courage are antidotes for fear.

We should create a new grove of positive and empowering thoughts to uplift our vibrations. Whatever we energise upon will manifest in our life. Instead of focusing on news and conversing about how covid-19 has taken toll on all of us, we should speak powerful and positive words. Take some deep breaths and affirm  to yourself after an hour or two such as : My body is perfect and healthy. My immune system is very very strong. Each cell of my body is filled with God's love, peace and power. Deep breathing with positive affirmations can really empower you from inside. Moreover Yoga, reading and listening something powerful and positive, breathing exercises, gardening, playing, dancing and doing those things that make you happier would completely eliminate fear and anxiety from your mind.

Feed your faith and your fears will starve to death. When you face your fear, you tame your fear. Focus on where you want to go, not on what you fear. It doesn't exist anywhere except in the mind.

The Power To Create A Better World

Shree Krishna explains in Bhagwat Gita, "Whatever action a great man performs, others will follow. And Whatever standards he sets by exemplary acts, all the world pursues,"

Each of us is great in our own fashion. We all impact the world in some or other way. We have that power. We are responsible for our actions and will draw our individual or collective consequences. Jesus said, "As you sow, so shall you reap." Hence, we should reexamine our own character to recognise the role we play in the drama of life.

The world's great religious and moral traditions call upon us to love our fellow human beings, to protect all forms of life, seeing as sacred as connected to the Divine
We should cleanse our minds and hearts, so that we can be the agents of good on this planet. God expects us to bind the nation's wounds.

Each day,  each moment we have the power to choose - kind or hurtful words,  love or hate, complaints or gratitude, work or laziness and honesty or corruption. It is our decision what to add in this world through our actions, which will also impact our destiny. We must strive to stop hate, spiteful words, selfish acts, abuse and such negative acts. And to commit that it will first stop with me - with my words and actions. We have the power to stand up for what is right.

Let's learn from yesterday's crisis and help set the world on a better path. We must not forget that we being the part of society, must strive for its well-being, since our own well-being is associated with the society. If we indulge in acts that are detrimental to the society, then our suffering is on the way. But if society is flourishing, then we all will grow and prosper.

The recent corona crisis has shown us that how our selfish acts has contributed to the suffering of the whole world. Reckless use of natural resources and exploitation of animals and other living creatures has left us in a miserable position. We should harmonise our actions with nature and its creation. This is for our well-being and for our coming generations. We should always remember that we are in this society and society is not within us.  So, we should strive to improve our world and usher in a peaceful and a happier life forever.
